OK, so yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day here in PA, so after work;Maggie, Daddy & I went out back to play on the swings and just run around....Here are some of the shots that we took. Please disregard the leaves and monkey balls and twigs all over the yard, Joe was is planning to clean the yard this weekend. My job will be to pressure wash her swing sets and the fence. Eww, did you see all the green funk on it????I will probably use a whole bottle of Simple green on the Playhouse alone.

Books, Boobs and Pounds

So here’s what I’m reading:

Frankly Pregnant   by Stacy Quarty.

Truth is; I read the whole book the week I received it.  Now, I’m going back every Sunday to see what’s going to be happening the upcoming week.

It’s really quite an amusing book.  Not all sappy like the What to Expect book….(Although I get the emails every week from them, cause… Jeez people!  I’m pregnant… I needs me some of that sappy stuff!)
This girl tells it like it is.  What you’re hemorrhoids really look like, (eewww) right down to the emotional things like feelings about sex.

I personally, have no desire for it right now.  A few weeks ago, sure!!  Right now, I just feel very unattractive and lumpy.  Joe hasn’t complained or anything, but I catch him checking out the rack every now and again.  And it IS GLORIOUS to behold!  People, there is CLEAVAGE!!  Without smooshing my arms together, I have actual Susan Sarandon type boobs!!  Woo hoo!!  Now, If I can just KEEP them after the Will gets here and lose the ginormous hips I’ll be SMOKIN on the beach this summer!  LOL!

So…..I went to the Dr’s last night.  I could feel my face turning red as stepped on the scale.  Anna (the P.A.) was asking me if I was having any swelling, and I couldn’t help it.  I said, “Apparently, only in my ass!”  She looked at the numbers, then the chart, back to the scale, then to me she says, “OOOOooooo you’re gonna get yelled at…..  Cat, how could you put on 11 lbs?”  (Dr’s scale weighs me at 3 lbs heavier than my scale at home)  I just looked at her & said Idunno…lucky I guess???

Dr K wasn’t as preachy as I thought she’d be.  She just said, yeah, well, things happen.  Don’t let it happen again ok??  Then she showed me my chart from the same time period with Maggie and I am STILL 12 lbs lighter than I was at this point with her so I guess that counts for something.

She even told me that as long as I feel good (I actually feel GREAT) and baby’s active & happy I shouldn’t worry about anything.  She gave me the slip for the Glucose screening which I won’t need to have done for another couple of weeks.

This Saturday is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time.  THANK YOU Ben Franklin for thinking of this!  I Love DST!!  I don’t even care that I lose 1 hour of sleep the 1st day.  I get to see the SUN on my way home from work!  I can go outside after work!  Maybe I’ll take a walk after dinner & maybe not gain too much weight from here on in.

Packin on the pounds.....

Dr K is gonna KILL ME!!!!!

My last OB appt I only gained 2.5 lbs. Yay right???

I went home at lunch today and stepped on the scale just for fun y’know???
According to my scale, I’ve gained 8 lbs this month! HOLY CRAP!!!
And HER scale weighs heavy anyway since I go there after work and you’re always heavier at night…..

Granted, I always gain A LOT of weight. I gained 44 lbs with Daboy, 68 with Maggie and so far with this one, I’ve packed on 28 lbs. I guess it’s a good thing that I “hide” my weight very well and I’m usually a very athletic, active person and I lose the weight pretty fast, but Jeez Laweeze, If I keep up at this pace, I’m going to be 200 lbs in July. I’m 5’6” tall and generally weigh in at 140 – 150 lbs. I think that’s ok don’t you??

The thing that’s getting to me is this: With this pregnancy, I only want to eat fruits & veggies. I eat a salad as lunch 3 days a week and a salad either with or AS dinner almost every night. Very light on the dressing and occasionally I’ll go “fancy” with a Chef salad. As for fruits, I’m eating a banana, an orange and an apple EVERY DAY! I went for 2 straight weeks where if I didn’t have fresh pineapple at least once a day, things got ugly. I drink nothing but water (and my cup of coffee every morning) all day. I swear, this kid’s gonna be a swimmer when he gets out! Seriously, I drink over a half gallon of water a day. PLUS the glass of milk with dinner each night. Should I cut back on the fruit? Too many carbs or whatever lives in fruit??

With Maggie, I can understand the weight gain as I had to have ice cream every night. And cake, oh God! The cakes I ate while carrying Mag…

So you tell me, O wise internets, WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG???
Granted, It’s still winter-ish here. And I have been cooped up in the house all winter.
So, the weight gain *could* be related to sedentary lifestyle (Dr K’s NOT gonna buy this), but it’s DARK out by the time I get home, someone has to cook dinner for everybody & then there’s housework, laundry, storytime, bathtime & then off to bed. Doesn’t leave a lot of time for walking or even exercising in my room. Maybe I could build an exercise routine that incorporates folding & hanging clothes or maybe running the vacuum???? Ideas? Suggestions???

The hairstyle

So, if you look at the pic that was taken on Saturday, the previous post (st. Pat's headband)
You will notice that Mag could use a trim. I took her to the local Kid Kuttery last night & THIS is what we came home with.

I had asked the girl to just trim & clean up her bangs. Mag was having such a good time sitting in the chair & primping, when the stylist asked her if she wanted a blow-dry, Mag said, "Yes, I *do* want my hair dwyed*." When the drying was finished, the stylist asked her if she would like some curls to which Maggie replied, "Yes, I *do* want some culls* in my hair." With the smallest curling iron I have ever seen in my life, the stylist curls the ends up all around her head. She sat still for the whole thing even during the hair spray. She was so good through the whole thing that I caved and bought her a bag of M&M's (her FAVE) for the ride home. Notice the chocolate blob on her shirt??

Of course, she has been cursed with the fine, thin, crappy hair of her mother and the curls were long gone way before bedtime.

Yep.  It’s a BOY!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, we are very excited.  Everything looked good at this morning’s ultrasound.  10 fingers, 10 toes, all the required parts.

There is a slight “concern” on the perinatologists part regarding the space between the ureters and either the bladder (or was it the kidneys, I actually forget what he said.)
He likes to see a gap of 4 cm, William’s are 5 and 7cm.  He’s not too concerned right now, just wants to follow up at 30 weeks. The placenta is also a tad low lying for his tastes, but just marginally.

We got a lot of pictures and I’ll try to get them scanned once I get home tonight.

Maggie was sure she was going to get a baby sister.  I hope that he doesn’t disappoint her too much.   At least now Joe & I won’t have to argue over a name.
