My Paris in training....without the sex & booze

What a weekend.
She partied aaaalllllll weekend.  We were out late Friday night as Joe had to work a midnight shift & we wanted to go out so he could have the house quiet and get some sleep before his shift.  We went to Kohl’s to spend a little time and money.

Saturday afternoon she went to Build a Bear for a birthday party.  Remind me to NEVER book a party there on a Saturday afternoon!!  What chaos!!  Maybe a Wednesday evening for maybe 5 kids……this lady had at least 10 people in the group. There is nowhere for the grownups to sit, it was about 90 degrees in the store; children running everywhere….maybe if I weren’t pregnant, it wouldn’t have bothered me so much.  After we built Seamus McBear (I “helped” with the name, she picked the bear).  We had a baby shower to attend.  The baby was already there.  The shower was supposed to be the 12th, but we had the snowstorm & the event was postponed.  Daniel was born 5 weeks early, but he looked wonderful, already tipping the scales at a nice healthy 7 lbs 9 oz.

Yesterday was my niece’s first birthday party.  Maggie gets very jealous of Baby Grace.  I can’t talk to her, let her use my leg to climb up to a standing position or, God Forbid, hold her.  I honestly don’t know what we’re going to do come July.  Hopefully, she’ll be better adjusted to sharing me with her new brother/sister.

We have the ultrasound scheduled for Thursday so hopefully, I’ll be able to post that news.

2 in 1 day

Boy, How lucky are you people to get 2 posts from me in 1 day??!

I still don't have anything to say, but I just got a few new pics of the Magster to post. These are from last weekends snow storm. We got 17 inches of the fun, white stuff. Today it's 65 degrees so now everything is pretty much melted.

Little Pitchers

Ok, so Saturday morning, I took the car to Meineke.  2 ½ hours later, we drive off $189.00 poorer, but not getting “looks” from pedestrians.  I can hardly get over the fact that the guy quoted me 175.00, I had expected 200.00 so I figured I got off easy.  After getting Maggie into the car seat and getting myself all buckled in, I looked at the receipt.  HE CHARGED ME 99.00 FOR LABOR!!!  The PART was only $69.00.  My car was on the lift for no longer than 20 minutes.  If I could have just bought the part I would have taken it to my mechanic & he would have done the labor for 50 bucks!!  DAMMIT!!

Then Maggie & I go out to the Baby Supermart to look for a “big girl bed”.  There were a few really pretty ones, but I have this picture in my head of what I want.  Now I just have to go find it.  I decide we’ll try Raymour & Flanigan’s (nothing in my price range) and then Babies-R-us (just cribs, no beds) While driving around in the rain after theoretically throwing $50.00 bucks out the window, with a little girl in the back seat who is getting tired and a bit….shall we say, cranky?? Not finding what I wanted the first time, I was not a happy girl.

While leaving the store, you take your life into your hands if you try to make a left hand turn onto Baltimore Pike.  So, being the cautious type, I make a right & figure I’d just turn around in Tar-jay parking lot.  As I’m making my turn to get back into the lane to leave the lot, a woman talking on her cell, driving with NO LIGHTS ON cuts me off leaving me sitting virtually in the middle of an intersection.  I have cars bearing down on me from both sides.  One guy even has the balls to beep at me.  I gave him the “Glare of Death” and he sort of sort of shrugged at me and sheepishly gave me the “Oh, I’m sorry” hands up gesture.

Later that evening Joe decides he’s going to take Maggie up to the police station with him so he can turn in his hours for the week.   He comes back home & stands her on the coffee table & asks her, “What does Mommy say in the car?”  To which Maggie, my little angel faced precious baby girl responds, “FUTTIN BITCH!!” followed by  “C’MON DUDE!  WHATTHEHELLSYOURPROBLEM?”

I’m blaming the pregnancy horror-mones for my road rage.

:::SIGH:::  Mom always said, “Little pitchers have big ears”

Now I know what she meant by that.

What do you want first???    Ok.

Bad News:  Dr K. tsk-tsked me for gaining 7 (SEVEN??!!) pounds.  So this morning, I packed for breakfast, a cup of mandarin oranges, a banana & a fruit & grain bar.  I get to work & pg co-worker J, stops in the office with a cheese danish for me.   She lives across the street from a bakery & she just HAD to stop this morning & get us some “goodies”  :::SIGH:::
I didn’t get the first-trimester screening done.  After kicking it around in my               head, I decided that it wasn’t necessary.  I feel deep in my heart that this baby is perfect.  Why put myself through the stress of waiting for results that are going to tell me just that. She did however suggest that I get the ultrasounds done at Perinatology dept since I’ll be a high-risk; and they’ll get a much more “detailed” study with their ultrasound machine.  I wonder if it’s one of those new-fangled 4D machines… that would be cool.

So, the cars will NOT be fixed today.  Turns out that we don’t have the   money to cover the costs of the stupid little metal pipe.  It’s only going to be a couple hundred bucks, but I Just.Don’t.Have.It. Damn that mortgage payment!!  Now, I will have to drive my loud little car for another 2 days until my payroll goes through.  DRATS!!  The mechanic says it’s not going to damage the car in any way, It’s just really loud & I’ll have to keep the window cracked if I smell exhaust.

Good News: Heartbeat good and strong.  I think I can finally stop worrying
and just enjoy this pregnancy.

Maggie came with me and she told Dr. K. that she was going to get a baby sister, and that Mommy has a baby in her belly.  And Maggie has a baby in her belly too.  Dr. K. put the Doppler on her tummy and told her that No, only MOMMIES get the babies in their bellies.  Big Sisters get to be Mommy’s Helpers.  Maggie told her that she’s going to be a good helper-girl.
